Creator Quickstart Guide

1. Click "Connect to Wallet" in the upper right corner.

2. Install the Wallet Plugin:

Here's a helpful video on installing the UTXORD extension from Chrome:

Click Install extension to open the Chrome Web Store with UTXORD Extension. Add it to your browser.

Quickstart Guide Step 2

You can also download/compile the extension directly from the GitHub repository.

Quickstart Guide Step 2A

 3. Return to the UTXORD page

Open the newly installed extension and generate a private/public key pair for use with the wallet. Here's a short video tutorial on how to do this.

Quickstart Guide Step 3

The private key that will be generated for you is BIP-39-compliant

(Bitcoin / Bips GitHub Mediawiki), which means you will mainly be dealing with it in the form of a 12-word mnemonic seed phrase.

Keep your seed phrase somewhere safe. If you unload your keys, you won't be able to access your wallet without it. When logged in, your funds and identity will be protected by a password you set up. You'll need it to open your wallet and to sign transactions.

 4. Refresh the page and click "Connect to Wallet" again. You should now see "User Menu" on the page.

Quickstart Guide Step 4

 5. Now let's set up your Identity.

Open the User Menu at the top right and go to the “Settings" section or follow this link.

Quickstart Guide Step 5

5.1 Here you can change your UTXORD platform userpic and the default nickname. When you are done, you are ready to inscribe your ProtoGene. Hit the Setup ProtoGene button to do so.

Quickstart Guide Step 5.1

 6. Your ProtoGene is a utility inscription, which will supply your identity gene to future collections

This is how all inscriptions in your collections can be easily traced back to you.

Keep in mind that ProtoGenes serve as distinct identities. Inscriptions can't be moved between them and are permanently linked to their original ProtoGenes. This ensures provenance in an anonymous, trustless setting.

You can also add some text and an image to your ProtoGene, but it’s optional. When you are done, hit Adjust Fees.

Quickstart Guide Step 6

6.1 Inscribe the transaction in the browser extension by entering your Wallet password when prompted.

Quickstart Guide Step 6.1

6.2 At this point, you may need to add funds to your wallet. To do so, copy your wallet address and transfer the required amount to it.

Please note that at this moment, we only support Bitcoin Taproot addresses, which may not be compatible with all platforms (like the popular crypto exchange Coinbase).

   Quickstart Guide Step 6.2

 7. Now that you have your ProtoGene inscribed, you can make your first Genetic Collection.

Select "Collection" in the top right menu or follow this link.

Quickstart Guide Step 7

 8. There are several things you can do in this section:

8.1 First, make sure the "Attach the collection to your ProtoGene" box is ticked.

8.2 Add the Collection Title if you want. By ticking the “Inscribe on chain” checkbox next to Collection Title, you’ll indicate that the Title will be inscribed along with the Image of the collection.

8.3 Add the Collection Description. This is also optional, and just like with the Title, you have the choice to inscribe it along with the Image of the collection by ticking the checkbox “Inscribe on chain”.

8.4 Finally, upload the Collection Image.

8.5 Click the "Review" button when you are done.

Quickstart Guide Step 8

8.6 Review your draft, and if everything looks good, click "Inscribe" and then Sign the transaction, as you did when Inscribing your ProtoGene.

Remember, inscribing typically takes around 15 minutes. However, you don't need to wait - feel free to move on to the next step right away, even while mining remains in progress.

 9. Now you can add items to your new Collection.

To do so, select “Inscription" in the top right menu or follow this link.

Quickstart Guide Step 9

Here's what you can do in this section:

9.1 First, select your new Collection from the drop-down menu on the right. That's going to be the collection we'll add inscriptions to.

9.2 Just like when inscribing Collection, you can optionally add a Title and Description to individual inscriptions, and choose to inscribe them along the Image by ticking the “Inscribe on chain” checkboxes.

9.3 Add the collection item itself by clicking "Upload Image."

9.4 Click "Review" when you are done.

Quickstart Guide Step 9.4

Once again, the inscription will be sent to the blockchain after you click "Inscribe" and then Sign the transaction in the Wallet browser extension.

10. Repeat step 9 to add the remaining inscriptions to your Collection.

Voila, you've just created your first protocol-compliant Genetic Collection!
